Secondary applications
After medical schools receive your complete application, they will most likely send you a secondary application that will require additional information (in the form of essays), along with an additional fee, before they will consider you for an interview. Most these days are online with a computer generated account sent directly to your email. Some send you a secondary the day you submit your application to AMCAS. Other schools still use good ole' snail mail. Returning secondary applications can become quite expensive - so pick and choose where you apply wisely.
